IDIOMS OF TIME BEAT THE CLOCK Meaning: To make something happen before the time is up. Example: He deserves praise for making the project complete before it lands in crunch time, a high-pressure zone to make decisions. THE BIG TIME Meaning: The more revered level of any company. Example: Although, he was a good player but could not make it to the big time. WASHING TIME Meaning:  Doing something useless. Example: Wasting time in a critical position will haunt you in the latter part of your life. KILL TIME Meaning:  Pass the time while doing something instead of wasting it. Example: Learning something to kill time is good. TIME FLIES Meaning: Time passes quickly. Example: Time flies when you indulge in entertaining hobbies. ONCE IN A BLUE MOON Meaning: Rarely. Example: He cooks once in a blue moon. BEHIND THE TIMES Meaning: Old-fashioned. Example: He is behind the times as far as artificial intelligence is considered.
